do the cheap Canon EOS and Rebel camera bodies appeal to you because of their cost and compatibility with the EF mount lenses you already own?

don't.

their plastic bodies feel like fisher price toys and if it hasn't already, the shutter will gum up due to material breakdown.

you'll be looking forward to the photos you shot and your disappointment will be immeasurable and your day will be ruined when you inevitably discover that the shutter failed to open on most or all of the frames and that you wasted $15 of film on a $20 camera. you'll look into servicing it, but realize for the cost of servicing it to make it usable you could've just bought a better EF mount film camera like the EOS 1N
